First Round Viewing of Older Riding Horse Stallions

During events designated by the KWPN, older jumping and dressage stallions may also be presented for approval. This concerns stallions aged four to seven. The evaluation and selection of these stallions take place within age-related classes during the stallion competition shows or the young horse classes at the KWPN Championships.

National Harness Horse Day

Since its inception, National Harness Horse Day has been the ultimate annual celebration for harness horse enthusiasts. To date, National Harness Horse Day boasts the highest attendance of the entire KWPN Championships event. Combining proven tradition with modern innovation, National Harness Horse Day is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Vaccinations

Horses participating in KWPN events, such as inspections, viewings, aptitude tests, and performance tests, or horses staying at the KWPN Centre for more than seven days, must be correctly vaccinated against influenza and rhinopneumonia. Horses that are not or incompletely vaccinated will be excluded from participation in KWPN events.

Clipping

It is not permitted to participate in mare/foal inspections or other KWPN events and competitions with horses whose tactile hairs around the mouth and eyes have been completely removed and/or whose inner ear hairs have been clipped. This will be monitored by stewards present at the events. Excessively protruding hairs may be trimmed. For adult horses, it is permitted to clip the legs and trim or clip the tail. At various studbook inspections and Central Inspections, stewards are present on a random basis to monitor compliance.
