Are you registering a foal with pedigree information with the KWPN? As part of this registration, the foal will be microchipped and a passport will be applied for.
I&R Passport
To apply for a passport without pedigree information (an I&R passport), the horse can be microchipped by a KWPN passport inspector or a veterinarian. The veterinarian will microchip the horse and together you must complete the ‘Application Form for a New Passport’ (see below). If you wish to have a horse without pedigree information microchipped by a KWPN passport inspector, please contact the KWPN Information Desk. They can inform you about the passport inspector in your region.
Make sure to apply for the passport in time so that it can be issued within nine months. If you apply too late, a duplicate passport will have to be issued and the horse will no longer be eligible for slaughter for human consumption.
