Once your foal has been born, you can register it with the KWPN. With a KWPN registration, you give your foal a quality label that he or she will carry throughout its life. KWPN horses are highly sought after and find their way all over the world, shine at international championships and top numerous rankings.

Everything for One Price

Registering with the KWPN means that we arrange everything for you at one price. When registering, you automatically apply for a passport and the foal’s details are recorded in the National Database of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The foal is then identified and microchipped by a KWPN passport inspector, and its parentage is verified. Identification and microchipping by a KWPN passport inspector are possible when the foal is stabled in the Netherlands. During the foal’s first year of life, you will receive several mailings containing relevant and interesting information about your foal.

Identification and Microchipping of Foals

After your foal has been registered, the passport inspector will contact you by telephone or e-mail to arrange an appointment for identification and microchipping. As regulations stipulate that a foal may only be microchipped from the age of six weeks, the passport inspector will identify and microchip the foal between the ages of six weeks and six months. In any case, your foal must be identified before reaching the age of six months.

Discount on Genomic Breeding Value Testing

If you apply for genomic breeding value testing for your jumping or dressage foal at the time of registration, you will receive an attractive discount. You can apply directly when registering your foal in My KWPN, but you can also benefit from the discount at a later stage. As long as the hair sample has not yet been sent to the laboratory for parentage verification, the discount remains valid when applying for genomic breeding value testing for your foal(s).

Discount on WFFS Testing

If you apply for genomic breeding value testing when registering your foal, you can receive an even greater discount when combining this with WFFS testing.
