Offspring report

Kannan JR (Cornet Obolensky x Quick Star x Voltaire)
During the offspring inspection Kannan Jr showed a collection of foals who varied in development and type. The foals assessed at home are average, well-developed, well-modelled foals who are in a good rectangular model. The head-neck connection is sometimes a bit heavy. In some cases, the neck should have a bit more length and the neck direction is also variable, several necks, both vertically and horizontally have been observed. The foals often have good shoulders. The top line is correct with a good connection to the croup which is sloping several times and sometimes needs to be longer. Viewed from the side, the foreleg is correctly adjusted with sometimes a slightly straight pastern position. The hindleg is varied, mainly correct, but foals have also been assessed who have a straight or sickled hindleg. The walk is more than sufficient in space and occasionally the front leg is toed-out. The trot is functional, sufficient in space and more than sufficient in elasticity and impulsion. The foals selected by the owners had trouble with cantering, probably because of tension, because the home scored foals by Kannan Jr generally cantered well with good space, good elasticity and good balance.
Number of registered offspring 2019: 24 fillies & 26 colts
Number of foals scored at home 2019: 25 foals
Number of foals present: 6 foals

The influential KWPN recognized Cornet Obolensky, who jumped 1.60m just like his father and grandfather, has another KWPN approved son in Kannan Jr. The pedigree of Kannan Jr, the stallion selection champion of 2018, is infused with jumping genes. Not only on the paternal side, but also on the mother's side with Quickstar who jumped 1.60m himself and his parents, Galoubet A and Stella who also achieved that level. We also saw Voltaire, the maternal great-grandfather, in action in 1.60m courses. Kannan Jr's dam Van Meta star sports (jumping) reached the international 1.45m level. Her first daughter Bella Meta (by Triomphe de Muze) sports (jumping) performed at 1.40m. Grandmother Lady-Meta star performance produced the preferent performance mare Rometa (by Zeus), the ZZ Light dressage horse Toy (by Karandasj), the international showjumper Wessel (by Quickstar) and the 1.35m horse Eric Jr. (by Lord Z). The great-grandmother Cemeta, a Keur preferent performance mare by Nimmerdor, jumped 1.30m herself, renowned fame as mother of the KWPN recognized breeding and sporting talent Kannan (by Voltaire) who is therefore a full brother of the grandmother of Kannan Jr.
