Given the rising popularity of eventing and the fact that many KWPN horses are used for this discipline, the Stallion Selection Committee believes that recognizing this stallion for Dutch eventer breeding, even though there is no official KWPN eventer breeding direction, can clearly stimulate the discipline.
Lineage
Born in France, Leprince des Bois is by Yarlands Summer Song (Fleetwater Opposition (Trak.) x Welton Gameful xx) out of Escale des Bois. Her dam is Quandy du Mayne (s.Galoubet A x Skynik xx). Another successful offspring by Yarlands Summer Song is the three-star eventer Lesbos, ridden by Nicolas Touzaint. Yarlands Summer Song's achievements include competing in the Atlanta Olympics, winning the team silver at the World Equestrian Games in The Hague, and capturing the team gold at the World Equestrian Games in Rome.
Results
Leprince des Bois competed at the four-star level under Kai Ruder. The stallion showed in the world's most challenging four-star horse trials, including Badminton (2x), Luhmühlen, Burghley (3x), and Pau.
