Hervé d’Ive VDL is a well-developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation and a downhill body direction. The head is sufficiently attractive, with a slightly heavy jaw. The poll has sufficient length with a slightly heavy head-neck connection. The neck has horizontal placement, good length, sufficient muscling, and a slight under-neck. The wither is more than sufficiently developed and has more than sufficient to good length. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has good length and sufficient muscling. The loins are tight but well connected. The croup has good placement, sufficient length, and sufficient muscling. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is slightly constricted. The hind leg is straight. The pasterns have good length but are straight. The legs are well developed and of sufficient quality. The hooves are of good shape and quality.
Lineage:
Hervé d’Ive VDL is a son of the KWPN-recognized stallion Vigo d’Arsouilles, who under Philippe le Jeune captured the championship at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. Hervé d’Ive VDL's dam is the Indoctro daughter Insenza d’Ive. The dam-line continues with renowned sires including H.Almé Z and the Hanoverian foundation stallion Gotthard. Other products of this widely-branched dam-line include the KWPN-recognized stallion Jaguar Mail, Fergar Mail (Chapultapec la Silla), and the talented Grand Prix mare Katchina Mail (s.Calvaro).

Hervé d’Ive VDL is an honest and reliable stallion with a good temperament. He is more than sufficiently willing to work and has sufficient trainability, but he still has difficulty with the contact. The walk and trot have sufficient scope. The canter has more than sufficient scope and push but is somewhat on the forehand and slightly slow. The stallion still has difficulty with his balance and self-carriage, and he needs more elasticity. He jumps with more than sufficient to good reflexes and uses his body well. The stallion jumps with good front leg form and generally completes his jump well behind. He appears careful and shows abundant scope. Hervé d’Ive VDL shows abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a more than sufficient feeling.
