Ferguson is a handsome, well-developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation. The head is sufficiently attractive with a large eye. The poll has more than sufficient length with a slightly heavy head-neck connection. The neck has good length and muscling but comes out deep from the chest. The wither has good length and sufficient development. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has good length and muscling. The loin has good muscling and is more than sufficiently connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is over at the knee when viewed from the side and correct when viewed from the front. The hind leg is slightly sickle-hocked. The pasterns have good length and are slightly weak. The legs are more than sufficiently developed and of sufficient quality. The hooves are of good quality and well shaped, with under-run heels.

Ferguson is a son of the Hanoverian-approved stallion Floriscount (Florencio x Donnerhall). Ferguson's dam Liebelei is by the English Thoroughbred Lauries Crusador xx, who is very influential in Germany. Ferguson's granddam Whitney is a daughter of the Weltmeyer son Wolkentanz. Paired with Riverside (Regazzoni x Donnerhall), Whitney produced the S-level dressage horse Roberto Cavalli. Ferguson's great-granddam Danja is by Dakar (Don Carlos x Frustra II). Bred to Wolkentanz, she foaled the S*** dressage horse Wondrous Fox. The dam-line continues with daughters by Wendenburg, Durban, and Forstmann.
