Conformation:
Hermanus is a well-developed, harness-type stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation. The head is attractive. The poll has good shape and length. The neck has good shape, muscling, length, and carriage. The wither is well developed. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back is well muscled. The loins are well muscled and well connected. The croup has good length and placement. The front legs are correct. The hind legs are slightly sickle-hocked. The pastern angle is normal. The hooves are well shaped and well developed. The legs are of good quality.

After Artiflex, Atleet, Fantijn and Waldemar, Hermanus is the fifth approved son by the preferent stallion Patijn (breeding value: 161 / 87%). This influential leading sire, who won numerous grand prizes in harness, has topped the breeding values list for many years. In addition to his approved sons, he also produced top inspection horses and many outstanding show horses. In 2013, he was exported to the USA, where he unfortunately passed away in early 2015. Hermanus's dam Biantha V elite is the daughter of another leading sire: the preferent stallion Manno. Biantha V boasts an impressive list of inspection successes: she is a six-time overall champion of the South Central Inspection; the three-year-old ster mare champion of the National Mare Inspection at the National Harness Horse Day event; and the keur/elite mare champion of the National Mare Inspection in 2011 and 2013. In harness, she delivered a top performance in the IBOP, earning a total score of 88.5 points and winning the southern competition. She has accumulated 35 points at competitions. Furthermore, Biantha V has produced five registered offspring. Her dam Niantha keur preferent (s.Renovo), who earned 33 points in harness, has produced excellent offspring - especially when paired with Manno - as evidenced by the selected stallion Alfred V and the second round viewing stallion Famous V, the winner of the 2013 KWPN Championship for three-year-old harness horses. Hermanus's dam-line is extensive and has produced numerous top inspection horses and outstanding show horses. The approved stallion Jackpot is another product of this dam-line.
Performance Test Report:
Hermanus is an honest and reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and good to drive. The walk is big and powerful. Pulling the show carriage, the stallion demonstrates good to very good neck carriage and good body use. Hermanus has abundant to very abundant knee action and good reach of the front leg. The hind leg shows good bend and steps under the body more than sufficiently. The trot has abundant suspension. Hermanus has more than sufficient to abundant desire to move. He has abundant talent as a harness horse and gives his driver a more than sufficient to good feeling.
Stable Behavior:
Hermanus is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.
Veterinary Report:
After the first admission day, the horse presented acute colic symptoms, which required an emergency visit to the clinic. The symptoms were caused by acute widespread ulcers, which were resolved with appropriate medication. The horse responded well to treatment.
Semen Inspection:
Expected fertility class: sufficient.
Breeding Recommendation:
Hermanus should improve type, presence, and front leg use. He should be bred to large mares with a strong hind leg.

Biantha V is a very well developed, modern mare with excellent harness type and abundant nobility.
