The KWPN Stallion Inspection Committee for Dressage has nominated the Danish-bred Grand Prix stallion Skofens Rafael for recognition. The General Board has now formalized this nomination. Skofens Rafael is a son of Blue Hors Romanov who was internationally active in the Grand Prix under the name Glock's Romanov with Hans Peter Minderhout. His mother is Tazorba, a daughter of dressage horse progenitor Don Schufro. The dam line is also made up of a daughter of the Grand Prix stallion Zorro Z. Zorro Z is a Hanoverian bred son of the KWPN recognized Grosso Z, then the dam line continues with the mare Tarifa, a daughter of another dressage horse progenitor, namely May Sherif. Skofens Rafael was bred by Jens Lund Pedersen and Kirsten Hansen from Lunderskov. The stallion is approved by the Danish Warmblood and performs at Grand Prix level under his owner Lotte Skjaerbaejk. Skofens Rafael ranks second in the breeding value estimation in Denmark.
The genome breeding value is 100 with 34% reliability. Skofens Rafael meets the X-ray criteria of the KWPN. The dark chestnut is 14 years old and has a height of withers of 1.68 m.

Conformation:
Skofens Rafael is a well-developed stallion with a good rectangular model with a downward body direction.
The head is appealing with a friendly eye.
The neck has good length with a correct head-neck connection.
The neck has good shape, good length and good muscling.
The withers are well developed and more than sufficient in length.
The shoulder is very good in length and has a little straight position.
The back is slightly sunken, good in length and has good muscling.
The loins are well muscled and well connected.
The croup is a fraction of the right position, more than sufficient in length and has good muscling.
The hamstring has good length.
The foreleg is correctly positioned from the side and is toed-in when viewed from the front.
The hindleg is correctly positioned.
The pasterns are a bit short and correct.
The foundation is well developed and of sufficient quality.
The hooves are well developed, good in shape and of sufficient quality with correctly developed heels.
The walk is regular, very good in space and has a lot of flexibility.
The trot has good space, has a lot of flexibility and is shown with a very good placement of the hindleg under the body and with a lot of posture.
