A uniform collection of more than sufficient to well-developed foals, with more than sufficient to good jumper conformation. The hind leg is generally long. The walk has more than sufficient scope. The trot has good scope and carriage. The foals pick up the canter easily. The canter is light-footed, carried, and has good scope. The foals are appreciated in movement. They have very good elasticity and use their bodies very well. The quality of the dams was average. The collection consisted of nine foals which were invited by the KWPN. One foal was absent.
Dakota VDL can improve form when bred to large mares with a good front end.

Dakota VDL is a more than sufficiently developed stallion with sufficient jumper conformation. The head is attractive. The poll has sufficient length. The neck has sufficient length and an under-neck. The shoulder has good length and placement. The wither has sufficient length and development. The back has sufficient length and good muscling. The loins have more than sufficient muscling and are well connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. The front leg is short but correct. The hind leg is correct. The legs are well developed and of more than sufficient quality. The hooves have good shape and are well developed.
Lineage
Dakota VDL's sire Casall (Caretino x Lavall I) is a successful Grand Prix show jumper under Rolf Göran Bengtsson and a producer of jumper offspring. Dakota VDL is out of Naomi II, a daughter of the KWPN-recognized stallion Contender and a full-sister to the BWP-approved stallion Cicero van de Helle. Dakota VDL's granddam Walline H is by Landgraf I. Walline H is also the granddam of the approved stallions For Fashion (For Pleasure x Contender), Cassus (Cassini I x Cantus), and Connan de Hus (Contender x Langenhagen). The dam-line continues with Sally (s.Capitol I) and daughters by Fantus (s.Farnese) and Marder (s.Makler I).

Dakota VDL is an honest and reliable stallion with a more than sufficient to good temperament. He is very willing to work and has more than sufficient to good trainability; however, he is still not very consistent in the contact. The walk has sufficient to more than sufficient scope. The trot has more than sufficient scope and carriage. The canter is powerful, light-footed, and has good scope. The stallion has more than sufficient body position and good balance. He jumps with more than sufficient to good reflexes, good form, and he completes his jump well with his hind end. Dakota VDL appears careful and shows abundant scope. He demonstrates abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a more than sufficient to good feeling.
Stable Behavior
Dakota VDL is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.
