Bernini is a more than sufficiently developed stallion with sufficient jumper conformation and a downhill body direction. The head is large and could have more presence. The neck has sufficient length; it is wide and comes deep out of the chest. The wither is long and more than sufficiently developed. The back has good length and muscling but falls away slightly behind the wither. The loins have good muscling and are well connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. The point of the hip to the point of the buttock is long. The front legs are short and toe out. The hind leg is correct. The legs are well developed and of good quality. The hooves have sufficient shape and development. The stallion carries his tail to the left.
Lineage
Bernini's sire Vigo d’Arsouilles (Nabab de Rêve x Fleuri du Manoir) is an impressive grand prix show jumper under Philippe Lejeune. Last summer, the talented stallion was among the prize winners in the Grand Prix of Aachen. Bernini's dam Marvelous is by Quick Star, out of the international jumper Glad Tidings. Under the name Malaguena la Silla, Marvelous competes at the 1.45m level with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. Glad Tidings is out of Adith (s.Le Mexico), a former international jumper. She produced a total of five international show jumpers: Glad Tidings (s.Tout Feu d’Hex), Daredevil (s.Galoubet A), Heartbreaker (s.Tout Feu d’Hex), Here and Now (s.Tout Feu d’Hex), and Idyllic II (s.Galoubet A). The dam-line continues with Plegtje (s.Lucky Boy xx daughter x Woldkoning), a full sister to Van Gogh, who Willi Melliger competed in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Bernini is an honest and reliable stallion. He is sufficient to more than sufficient in his willingness to work and his trainability. His mouth is tough. The walk and trot have sufficient scope and elasticity. The canter has abundant scope but little carriage. Bernini jumps with very good reflexes and form, uses his body very well, and completes his jump very well with his hind end. He appears careful and shows very abundant scope. Bernini demonstrates abundant to very abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a good feeling.
Stable Behavior
Bernini is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.
Veterinary Report
On 27 October 2009, the stallion displayed abnormal movement with his left hind leg. Further neurological evaluation revealed no abnormalities. Symptoms are no longer present.

Breeding Recommendation
Bernini can improve jumping form, body use, and scope in jumper breeding. The stallion is best suited for riding-type mares with presence.
