Offspring report

Dylano showed a uniform collection of more than sufficiently developed foals with sufficient harness horse type and good rectangular-shaped conformation. The head has good shape and is attractive. The poll has sufficient shape but varies in length. The neck has good length but lacks muscling in the topline. The neck generally has good placement, but several foals have an under-neck. The wither is well developed. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has good shape and muscling. The loins have good shape and muscling. The croup has sufficient shape but needs more length. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is correct and has good length, but is slightly fine-boned. The pasterns are long. The hind leg is generally correct but long. The legs are solid and tight, but fine-boned. The hooves have normal shape and are of good quality. The walk is sufficient with respect to scope and elasticity. Front leg use is more than sufficient with respect to action and scope. The hind leg shows more than sufficient bend but should generally step farther and more powerfully under the body. The foals carry the neck well in the trot and come back more than sufficiently in the front end; however, they should "climb" more in the trot. The foals have good suspension and are balanced, but need to collect more.
Breeding Recommendation
The breeding recommendation is based on the performance test and the foal inspection. The foals by the Hackney-cross stallion Dylano have sufficient harness horse type, size, and long-lined conformation. Dylano is best bred to mares with a strong hind leg. The stallion is interesting with respect to blood distribution.
Remarks
The collection consisted of 14 foals selected by the KWPN. The foals were evaluated on grass footing. The quality of the dams was average.
