Lineage
With a name like Chello III VDL, it is no surprise that this stallion has two approved full brothers: Chello I (1998, Holst/Bawü approved) and Chello II (2000, Holst/Bay/SAnh/Brdbg approved). Chello III VDL's sire Contender (Calypso II x G Ramiro-Z), a household name in the German breeding industry, has produced grand prix horses in both dressage and show jumping. Chello III VDL's dam Gracia III is by Sandro, who competed successfully in show jumping under Franke Sloothaak. Sandro is by the Thoroughbred stallion Sacramento Song xx, who is known for passing on jumping talent. At the WEG in The Hague, he was represented by three of his offspring. Chello III VDL's granddam Werona is a daughter of the influential stallion Cor de la Bryère. Other horses in the dam-line include the G.Ramiro Z mare Golda, who is the granddam of the approved stallion and Z1-level jumper Mill Reef VDL (s.Mity Wind xx) Other stallions out of this dam-line include Corofino I and II, Coriano, Crawford, and Diarado, the champion of the past Holsteiner stallion selection.
