Brainpower is a well-developed stallion but needs more body length. The head is more than sufficiently attractive. The neck has more than sufficient length but slightly heavy muscling on the underside. The wither is more than sufficiently developed and has good length. The shoulder has sufficient length and placement. The back is short with more than sufficient muscling. The loins are moderately connected. Lineage
Brainpower's sire Contendro I is by the influential stallion Contender, out of the successful mare Bravo (s.Reichsgraf), who also produced Contendro I's full brother Contendro II. In addition, Bravo is the dam of Caretano Z (s.Caretino), who excelled in both the sport and breeding; and Cassito (s.Cassiano), who was awarded premium stallion status in Holstein in 2008. Contendro I is particularly influential in Germany, where his offspring are excelling; as a result, his index score is 155 (95% reliability). Brainpower's dam is the keur mare Soterma, a daughter of the preferent stallion Guidam. Brainpower's granddam Berma (s.Nimmerdor) boasts the keur, preferent, and prestatie predicates. Farther back in the dam-line is the keur preferent Abgar xx daughter Terma, who is also the dam of the KWPN stallion Faram and the keur preferent mare Derma (Rigoletto x Brigadier). Other notable horses out of the immediate dam-line include the SBS-approved stallion Edgar (s.Jasper) and the grand prix jumper Naomi (s.Colino).
