A uniform collection of more than sufficiently developed, longlegged foals with more than sufficient jumper conformation and presence. The trot has good stride length with a hind leg that bends well but should step under the body a bit more at times. The foals canter easily and light-footed, with good stride length. The foals move with good carriage.
Breeding Recommendation
The breeding recommendation is based on the performance test and the offspring inspection. Baltic VDL can improve jumper breeding and add reflexes and athletic ability. Mares should be long-lined and big.

Performance test report

Conformation
Baltic VDL is a more than sufficiently developed riding-type stallion with sufficient rectangular conformation and a slightly downhill body direction. The head is attractive. The head-neck connection is heavy. The neck is short with good muscling and comes deep out of the chest. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and good placement. The wither has more than sufficient development and good length. The back is short and has good muscling. The loins have good muscling and are well connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg has more than sufficient length but is over at the knee. The hind leg is correct but long. The legs are more than sufficiently developed and of sufficient quality. The hooves are well developed with under-run heels.
Lineage
Baltic VDL is by the prematurely deceased stallion Quaprice. His sire, the renowned stallion Quidam de Revel, competed in international show jumping under Julien Epaillard. Quaprice's dam Wella I is by Lord. The grand prix jumper Operette la Silla (s.Caletto II), who was a sensation under Jan Tops, is out of the same dam-line as Quaprice. Baltic VDL's dam is Nellandra, a ster mare by the Olympic champion Jus de Pomme. She is also the dam of the approved KWPN stallion Vegas VDL and a full sister to the grand prix horse Melandra (s.Jus de Pomme). Baltic VDL's granddam Ellandra is a ster preferent mare by Wellington. The dam-line also boasts a ster preferent mare by Orthos, a keur mare by Joost, and a ster mare by Rigoletto.
Inspection Report
Baltic VDL is an honest, playful, and reliable stallion. He is very willing to work, has good trainability, and a good mouth. The walk is pure with more than sufficient scope and elasticity. The trot has sufficient to more than sufficient scope and elasticity. The canter has good scope, power, and carriage. Baltic VDL jumps with very good reflexes and good to very good form, with his wither raised very well. The stallion appears careful, completes his jump very well with his hind end, and demonstrates very abundant scope. Baltic VDL shows very abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a very good feeling.
Stable Behavior
Baltic VDL is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.
Veterinary Report
On 29 April 2009, a quarter-crack developed on the inside of the left front foot. The crack was debrided and balanced. No other abnormalities were observed.
Semen Inspection
Expected fertility class: moderate.

Baltic VDL can add reflexes and athletic ability to jumper mares with a more than sufficient front end and length in the body.
Dam Report
Nellandra is a very well-developed, long-lined mare with good modern jumper conformation. The mare has very good rectangular-shaped conformation and abundant presence. The head has good shape and is attractive, but slightly long. The poll has good shape and length. The neck has good length, shape, and placement, but comes out of the chest somewhat deep. The neck has sufficient muscling. The wither is well developed and long. The shoulder is long with more than sufficient placement. The back and loins have good shape and muscling. The croup has sufficient length and slope, with sufficiently long muscling. The front leg is correct. The hind leg is slightly straight. The pastern angle is good. The legs are more than sufficiently developed and of sufficient quality. The hooves are sufficiently developed. The walk is pure, with sufficient scope and push. The trot is correct with sufficient scope and carriage. The canter is easy, with sufficient scope, push, and balance.
