Due to the sale of Bretton Woods (s.Johnson) to Paul Schockemöhle and Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff of Germany, offspring by the KWPN stallion will not be inspected. The Stallion Selection Committee does not inspect offspring of exported stallions, unless the registered party submits an inspection request.

Performance test report

Conformation
Bretton Woods is a well-developed stallion with good dressage horse conformation. The head is attractive. The poll has more than sufficient length. The neck has good length, shape, and muscling. The shoulder has good length and sufficient placement. The wither is more than sufficiently developed with more than sufficient length. The back has good length and muscling. The loins have good muscling and are well connected. The croup is sloped with good length and muscling. The front leg has good length but is slightly back at the knee. The hind leg is correct. The legs show more than sufficient development and quality. The hooves are sufficiently developed.
Lineage
Johnson (Jazz x Flemmingh) is the sire of Bretton Woods. Currently, Johnson is competing successfully in the small tour. Last year, Bretton Woods won the VSN Trophy; and this year, he placed second in the PAVO Cup competition.
Bretton Wood's dam Annabel is an elite preferent mare by De Niro (Donnerhall x Akzent II). She performed very well in the mare test. Annabel is also the dam of the KWPN stallion Chagall D&R (s.Jazz), and Annabel's dam Alina is by Romancier (Rosenkavalier x Feuerschein I). The dam-line continues with Aphilla (s.Troublemaker xx) and Philliana (s.Courville xx), both daughters of English Thoroughbred stallions.
Inspection Report
Bretton Woods is an honest and alert stallion with a good temperament. He is very willing to work and has very good trainability. The walk is pure and has more than sufficient to good scope. The trot is powerful with good scope and carriage. The hind leg bends actively but should step farther under the body. The canter is powerful, carried, and has good scope. Bretton Woods has very expressive, uphill movement. He shows very good self-carriage and very abundant elasticity. Bretton Woods has very abundant talent for dressage and gives his rider a very good feeling.
Stable Behavior
Bretton Woods is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.
Veterinary Report
Bretton Woods does not meet KWPN radiographic requirements with respect to the right stifle and right hock. As a result, he was deemed class C for osteochondrosis. The stallion selection committee exercised its right to accept a stallion with class C osteochondrosis.
Semen Inspection
Expected fertility class: sufficient.
Breeding Recommendation
Bretton Woods can contribute size, conformation, and movement to dressage horse breeding.
Dam Report
Annabel is a more than sufficiently developed mare with sufficient to more than sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation. She has more than sufficient presence, but her legs should be longer and her forehand more developed. The head is well-shaped and attractive. The head-neck connection is sufficiently light. The neck has sufficient length and more than sufficient muscling in the top-line. The neck also has more than sufficient vertical placement and is used well in movement. The wither is more than sufficiently developed and sufficiently long. The shoulder has sufficient length and slope. The back has good shape, and the loins have good muscling. The croup has normal placement and more than sufficient length. The front leg is correct when viewed from the side, but slightly camped under. The hind leg is correct. The pasterns have more than sufficient length but are somewhat weak. The hooves are more than sufficiently broad, but the heels are somewhat low. The legs are of appropriate circumference with more than sufficient quality. The walk is correct, pure, and active with more than sufficient scope. The trot and canter show good use of the hind leg as well as good balance and body position. In these gaits, Annabel demonstrates more than sufficient scope and body use with good self-carriage.
