The stallion selection committee has decided to recognize the Corland son Apardi for KWPN breeding.
Apardi has competed in Grand Prix show jumping for several years now under Colombia's Daniel Bluman. The combination's successful shows include the four- and five-star competitions in La Baule, Calgary and Wellington.
Apardi is a ten-year-old bay by the keur stallion Corland out of the elite prestatie mare Supardi, a daughter of the top sire Kannan. Apardi's granddam is the keur preferent prestatie mare Gupardie, a daughter of the jumper sire and keur stallion Jasper. The dam-line continues with Vupardi, a keur mare by Fresco. Apardi is a full-brother to the KWPN stallion Bacardi VDL. Apardi measures 1.72 m / 16.3+ h. He was bred by F. van de Linden in Haaren, and his semen is available through VDL Stud in Bears. Apardi meets KWPN radiographic requirements. He has also been evaluated for conformation. Apardi's jumping breeding value is 144 with 45% reliability.
Conformation Description:
Apardi is a well-developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation.
The head is sufficiently attractive but a fraction long.
The poll is sufficiently long with a light head-neck connection.
The neck has slightly vertical placement, good length, and somewhat heavy muscling on the underside.
The wither is well developed and has good length.
The shoulder is straight but has good length.
The back has good length and muscling.
The loins are a fraction tight but well connected.
The croup has good placement and muscling but needs more length.
There is good length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock.
The front leg is slightly back at the knee.
The hind leg is correct.
The pasterns are somewhat short and a fraction straight.
The legs are well developed but should be tighter.
The hooves are small with good quality and well-developed heels.
The walk has sufficient scope and elasticity.
The trot is powerful with more than sufficient scope and good body position.
The canter is efficient, carried, and has good scope.
