Afstammelingen 2006 (veulens)
Van de hengst Cartano werd een uniforme collectie royaal ontwikkelde en rijtypische veulens getoond. De veulens staan goed in het rechthoeksmodel.
Het hoofd is lang en sprekend. De nek is wisselend van lengte. De hals is goed van lengte en vorm, maar meermalen arm bespierd. De schoft is voldoende ontwikkeld. De schouder is voldoende van lengte, maar steil. De rug is goed van lengte, enkele malen gezonken. De lendenen zijn meermalen arm bespierd. De croupe is goed van ligging, maar kort met meerdere malen een hoge staartinplant. De schenkel is lang en arm bespierd. Het voorbeen is correct gesteld, enkele malen ingesnoerd en teer. Het achterbeen is sabelbenig met meermalen een ingestoken pijp. Het fundament is royaal ontwikkeld met voldoende kwaliteit.
De stap is ruim met een goede souplesse. De draf heeft souplesse en is beperkt van ruimte en kracht. De galop is krachtig, heeft veel balans, is ruim, gedragen en heeft veel souplesse.
Kort samengevat: Uniforme collectie royaal ontwikkelde, rijtypische veulens die goed in het rechthoeksmodel staan. Het achterbeen is sabelbenig. De draf is beperkt van ruimte en kracht. De galop is krachtig, heeft veel balans, is ruim, gedragen en heeft veel souplesse.
De collectie bestond uit 20 door het KWPN aangewezen en vier door de eigenaar geselecteerde veulens. Drie door het KWPN aangewezen veulens waren afwezig. Deze veulens zijn thuis geïnspecteerd. Twee veulens passen in het beeld van de rapportage, één van deze veulens is alleen op stand gezien, de bewegingen konden in verband met ziekte niet worden beoordeeld. Eén veulen wijkt, wat betreft de beweging, negatief af van de rapportage. De door de eigenaar geselecteerde veulens passen in het beeld van de rapportage.
De veulens werden gepresenteerd op een zandbodem.
De kwaliteit van de moeders was gemiddeld.
Getoond: 21 (+3) veulens uit 199 in 2005 gedekte merries.
De gebruikte terminologie bij benadering in cijfers:
matig: 5; voldoende: 6; ruim voldoende: 7; goed: 8.
Paringsadvies 2006
Cartano lijkt geschikt voor springmerries die tekortkomen in ontwikkeling en de galoppade. De merries moeten voldoende bespiering in de bovenlijn hebben en géén sabelbenig achterbeen.

Two-time Olympic participant Carthago (s Capitol I) is on the books as the sire of Cartano. In 2004 Carthago had a Zuchtwert jumping index of 159 (rel 97%) and a dressage index of 103 (rel 95%).
Dam E-Dream Girl jumped internationally at the highest level with Sören von Rönne after she was successful as a 5-year old and 6-year old in the Bundeschampionat. As of 2004 E-Dream Girl had won 23,167 euros according to German statistics. She is a daughter of Alasca (s Ahorn-Z). Grandmother Valet (s Caprivi) also produced Copperfield (s Cantus) being jumped internationally by Tjark Nagel. Through Caprivi we again find the influential blood of Capitol I.
Conformation description 2005
Cartano is a generously developed, long lined and riding type stallion with an expressive head. The stallion has a nice forehand. The croup is short and straight. The stance of the foreleg is correct. The hindleg is long and poorly muscled. The legs show quality.
Performance Ermelo 2005 (14-03 t/m 01-04)
The stallion completed a performance test in Germany and was accepted for the 21-day test on the basis of that test.
Cartano is an honest, trustworthy and playful stallion with a good attitude. The stallion is very willing to work and he works well.
The walk is pure and should have more power. The trot has more than sufficient scope and has sufficient tact. The hindleg should come underneath more in the trot. The stallion carries himself moderately at the trot. The canter is big with a powerful hindleg that comes underneath well. Cartano can do good transitions at the canter. Cartano has moderate talent for dressage and gives his rider a moderate feeling.
Cartano jumps remarkably well, he is quick and powerful from the ground. The foreleg folds well. The stallion has very good use of the body over the jump, opens well behind and shows much suppleness. He seems careful and shows very much scope. Cartano has very much talent for jumping and gives his rider a very good feeling.
In his stall the stallion appears to be honest and trustworthy. He is nice to work with and is easy to handle.
