In 2009, the stallion selection committee for Gelder horses received a request to grant Secundus (76.8705) recognized status as a breeding stallion. Secundus is approved by the Scottish Sports Horse organization and has KWPN bloodlines. He is by Rigoletto out of the studbook mare Moniek by Porter. Moniek's dam is Jeska, a keur mare by the Gelder stallion Equator. The dam-line is further comprised of classic Gelder horse lines.
Secundus was born in 1976 and died in 2004. He was a successful show jumper, who produced several offspring which also excelled in the discipline. Secundus is available for breeding via frozen semen. Because the stallion has not met KWPN veterinary requirements, the stallion selection committee for Gelder horses recommended that Secundus be granted recognized status specifically for Gelder horse breeding. This recommendation was formally approved by the Board of Directors.
Secundus offspring are eligible for registration with the KWPN in Register A; however, they must meet radiographic and respiratory requirements for acceptance in the studbook. Based on Sucundus' performance, his offspring are not required to undergo a performance test.
