Afstammelingen 2006 (veulens)
Vermont liet een uniforme collectie hoogbenige, goed ontwikkelde, voldoende rijtypische veulens zien. De veulens staan goed in het rechthoeksmodel.
Het hoofd is voldoende sprekend. De nek zou meer lengte moeten hebben. De hals is goed van vorm en lengte, meermalen arm bespierd in de bovenlijn. De schoft is voldoende van lengte en ontwikkeling. De schouder is voldoende van lengte, maar steil. De rug is goed van lengte. De lendenen zijn voldoende bespierd, een enkele maal strak. De croupe is goed van ligging, maar kort. De broekspier zou langer moeten doorlopen. Het voorbeen is doorgaans correct gesteld, een enkele keer onderstandig. Het achterbeen is lang, enkele malen sabelbenig. Het fundament is royaal ontwikkeld en is correct afgewerkt.
De stap is wisselend van ruimte en souplesse. De draf is goed van ruimte en heeft voldoende souplesse. Het achterbeen wordt goed gebogen en zou actiever en verder moeten ondertreden. Het gebruik van het voorbeen is vlak. De veulens galopperen makkelijk aan. De galop is lichtvoetig en heeft een goede afdruk.
Kort samengevat: Uniforme collectie hoogbenige, goed ontwikkelde, voldoende rijtypische veulens die goed in het rechthoeksmodel staan. In beweging hebben de veulens ruim voldoende ruimte en souplesse. In draf zou het achterbeen actiever en verder moeten ondertreden.
De collectie bestond uit 20 door het KWPN aangewezen en vier door de eigenaar geselecteerde veulens. Twee door het KWPN aangewezen veulens waren afwezig. Deze veulens zijn thuis geïnspecteerd en passen in het beeld van de rapportage; één van deze veulens is alleen op stand gezien, in verband met ziekte. Twee veulens zijn alleen op stand gezien. De door de eigenaar geselecteerde veulens passen in het beeld van de rapportage.
De veulens werden gepresenteerd op een zandbodem.
De kwaliteit van de moeders was gemiddeld.
Getoond: 22 (+2) veulens uit 121 in 2005 gedekte merries.
De gebruikte terminologie bij benadering in cijfers:
matig: 5; voldoende: 6; ruim voldoende: 7; goed: 8.
Paringsadvies 2006
Vermont lijkt geschikt voor rijtypische, hoog in het bloed staande springmerries. De merries moeten wel een actief achterbeengebruik hebben.

Conformation description 2005 (14-03 t/m 24-05)
More than sufficiently developed stallion that stands in good rectangular model. The head is expressive. The neck is shaped well and long. The foreleg is short with a correct stance. The hindleg is a little long. The base is richly developed.
Pedigree information
Carolus II, who has been internationally active with rider Schuyler Riley for years, carries interesting performance blood. Successively in the pedigree are the stallion Capitol I, Roman (s Ramzes x) and Ladykiller xx. His lifetime German winnings are EUR 105,025 (as of 2004).
The dam of Vermont is also interestingly bred. Pracht-S is a daughter of Corland, who was himself a successful jumper with Wout van der Schans. She carries the elite and sport (jumping) predicates and is currently jumping at Grand Prix level in Italy. Grandmother Europa IV is a daughter of the recently KWPN erkende (accepted) Landlord out of the mare U-Capitola (s Capitano). U-Capitola is also the dam of approved stallions Lord Capitol (s Lord), Quite Capitol (s Quidam de Revel), Landcapitol (s Landadel), Cevin (s Calando) and grandmother of Quite Easy I and II (s Quidam de Revel) amongst others.
Performance
Vermont is an honest, trustworthy, somewhat pragmatic stallion. He has sufficient willingness to work and he works more than sufficiently.
The walk is pure and has sufficient scope. The trot has sufficient scope. The hindleg should come underneath more actively both at the walk and at the trot. The canter has more than sufficient impulsion and more than sufficient scope. Vermont should show more suppleness in all three gaits. Vermont has little talent for dressage and gives his rider a moderate feeling.
Vermont jumps with a good take-off but he could be quicker. The stallion bascules more than sufficiently and opens the hindquarter well. He seems careful and shows much to very much scope. Vermont has much talent for jumping and gives his rider a good feeling.
The stallion is calm in his stall and easy to handle.
Veterinary remarks: The stallion had a generalized skin infection when he arrived. He recovered through medication.
Vermont appears to fit mares that carry a lot of blood an/or are sensible. Mares do have to have sufficient substance.
