Offspring 2003 (foals)
San Remo showed a uniform collection of sufficiently developed, more than sufficient riding type foals that stand in more than sufficient rectangular model. The head is sufficiently expressive. The poll has more than sufficient to much length. The neck has good length but shows a ewe neck when stood up. The wither has more than sufficient length and is sufficiently developed. The shoulder has sufficient to more than sufficient length and sufficient placement. The back is generally weak. The loins are sufficiently to well connected. The croup has good length, sufficient slope and sufficient muscling. The stance of the hindleg is correct. The base is more than sufficiently developed and has good quality.
The walk is pure, has sufficient scope and suppleness. The trot has sufficient to more than sufficient scope, sufficient impulsion and the foals have much self carriage and tact. The foreleg stays flat, the hindleg should follow through more and be more active. The canter has more than sufficient scope and sufficient impulsion. The foals jump easily into the canter. The foreleg remains flat.
There were 18 picked foals and 6 that were selected by the owner. Of the two foals that were inspected at home one deviated positively in regards to development and movement. The other foal fit in with the above picture. The foals that were selected by the owner had more substance.
The quality of the mares varied.

Pedigree information 2002
Thanks to his large Rittigkeit, Wolkentanz II (ds. Ludendorff - Lugano I) received 140.53 points for dressage during his performance test. Later on he was able to pass this quality on to his offspring. Valente produced the stallion Weltgeist who competed at Grand Prix level. She is a daughter of the Oldenburg stallion Volturno, who produced international military horses. In the background improvement blood was provided by the Absatz son, Azur, and the Kurier - Kurde x son, Kadett.
Dam Valente: 14 breeding years, 10 foals. She produced a Privatbeschäler/GP-dressage horse (lifetime winnings of DM 22.615) Weltgeist (1991, s Weltmeyer) = Woityla.
Grandmother Azira produced Viper (s Volturno) Class L jumping and dressage. Lifetime winnings DM 1.115 DM.
Type 2002
San Remo is a well developed, riding type stallion that stands in very good rectangular model. The neck is well formed and well muscled. The wither and shoulder are very well developed. The back and loins are a little long. The hamstring should be a little longer.
Performance Ermelo 2002
San Remo is an honest, reliable stallion. He has much willingness to work and he works very well. San Remo has a pure walk with sufficient scope. He has good scope at the trot. He trots with sufficient impulsion, much suppleness and much self carriage and balance. San Remo canters with good scope. He has more than sufficient impulsion, much self carriage, very good balance and does changes well. San Remo has much talent for dressage and gives his rider a very good feeling.
San Remo has sufficient take-off for jumping. He jumps with more than sufficient leg technique but should use his body better. He finishes the jump moderately to sufficiently. He seems careful and shows sufficient to more than sufficient scope. San Remo has sufficient talent for jumping and gives his rider a moderate to sufficient feeling.
Stall and handling behavior are normal.

Conditional approval 2002: Email KWPN: "The black dressage stallion San Remo was conditionally accepted into the studbook after the performance test. There is still an ongoing career legal action in the context of the KWPN doping rule. On 5/15/2002 the president of the KWPN Appeals Committee decided as follows: If the KWPN stallion committee recommends to the KWPN Board that San Remo be accepted into the KWPN studbook as a result of the performance test, the board must make it clear that this acceptance is conditional, until such a time that the Appeal Committee makes a decision on the appeal to the ruling made by the KWPN disciplinary committee on 5/06/2002.
