Offspring report

Offspring 2003 (foals)
Sonique showed a uniform collection of barely sufficient, refined, short coupled, riding type foals that are well muscled.
The head is very expressive and well shaped. The poll has sufficient length. The neck has good shape and good muscling but it lacks length. The wither is sufficiently developed and is sufficiently long. The shoulder has sufficient length and position. The back is shaped and muscled well. The loins have good shape and are well muscled. The croup slopes with sufficient length and good muscling. The hamstring should be longer. The stance of the foreleg is correct but it should be longer. The stance of the hindleg is generally correct. The base has much quality but is light.
The walk has moderate purity, lacks suppleness and scope. The trot has sufficient scope. The hindleg should be brought further underneath. The canter is light but should have more scope. The croup remains high in both the walk and the trot.
There were 8 picked foals and 5 that were selected by the owner. Two foals that were inspected at home fit in with the above picture, as did the foals selected by the owner.
The quality of the mares was moderate to sufficient.
Shown: 13 (+2) foals out of 49 mares that were bred in 2002.

A correct stallion with sufficient, be it a little short coupled, type. Good charisma. Good basic gaits with strong use of the hindleg and a markedly upwards canter. Easy side gaits. The performance jury had a positive feeling.
