Offspring report

Offspring 2003 (foals)
Sheraton showed a barely sufficiently developed collection of uniformly muscled foals that stand in sufficient rectangular model and are of sufficient riding type.
The head is a little long and sufficiently expressive. The poll has more than sufficient to good length. The neck has sufficient length, good shape and the foals use it well. The wither is well developed and is more than sufficient in length. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and is well placed. The back is a little weak. The loins are sufficiently to well connected. The croup has sufficient length and more than sufficient shape. The hamstring should be longer. The stance of the foreleg is correct; it has a weak pastern and sufficient length. The stance of the hindleg is correct. The base is more than sufficient in development and varies in quality.
The walk is pure, has sufficient scope and more than sufficient suppleness. The foals have good self carriage in the trot, good use of the foreleg and much shoulder freedom, but the hindleg should bend more and it should be brought underneath more. The canter varies in impulsion and scope. Some of the foals canter very well, with good scope and elasticity.
There were 18 picked foals and 4 that were selected by the owner. One of the foals had bucked knees and weak pasterns. Of the two foals that were inspected at home, the first was well developed but this foal had fluid on both hocks and could not be evaluated in movement. The other foal that was inspected at home fit in with the above report. The selected foals are more developed and have more charisma.
The quality of the mares varied.
Shown: 22 (+2) foals out of 197 mares that were bred in 2002.
