Offspring report
Offspring 2001 (foals)
Onze Fons-Z showed a uniform collection of moderate to sufficiently developed foals that are of moderate to sufficient riding type. On the whole they are short-coupled. The foals are generally wide and heavily muscled. Sometimes the foals are short-legged. In a number of cases the foals are in sufficient rectangular model and there is more refinement. The head is sufficiently expressive. The poll has sufficient length and shape. The length of the neck varies from short to sufficient. The neck is often wide. The wither has more than sufficient length but is flat and wide. The shoulder has sufficient length but should have more slope. The back is a little hollow but wide and well muscled. The loins are well connected, wide and well muscled. The croup is wide, well muscled and more than sufficient in placement but it is often short. The hamstring is usually short. The foreleg is correct. The hindleg varies from straight to sickle-hocked. The hindleg is behind the body. The base varies in circumference and quality. The walk is pure and has moderate scope. The trot has barely sufficient scope. The foals show good use of the foreleg but hold the neck too high in movement and they push with the hindleg. The foals do not jump into the canter easily. The canter appears to have moderate balance.
Veterinary remarks: One foal was irregular.
The quality of the mares was good.
Shown: 25 foals out of 104 breedings in 2000.

Performance test report
Bloodtyping 1994
The laboratory that does the typing uncovered the fact that the stallion Alexis-Z could not be the son of Almé-Z. The bloodtyping of Alexis-Z received from Germany included only two markers, meaning new blood needed to be drawn. At that time it was concluded that, on the basis of three markers that are very typical for offspring of Almé-Z, Alexis-Z could not be his son. A second test confirmed this result (pub. 4/14/1994). At the date of this publication (5/11/1994) it not yet clear how this occurred. The Zangersheide stud, where Alexis-Z was born, has tried to prove on the basis of the available documentation that the fault was not made there. It has been investigated - and is still being investigated - if it is possible to determine the sire. Parentage can be determined through blood typing with 98% certainty. The stallion committee is of the opinion though that the blood typing will not give the final answer.
1999
Selected for performance test at KWPN stallion show in Den Bosch.
Besides a good technique and extremely much scope, Alfons-Z also has an appealing exterior. He is a son of the German jumper sire Alexis-Z (i.e. Apricot, Amaretto I, Allez France) and the mare Viola. Viola has produced 8 colts (including 1 that was selected for the performance test and 1 that was third ring) and 3 fillies. She is the dam of the national jumper Heaven (s Ulft) and the international jumpers Jubilee (s Rex Magna xx), Cilton (s Transvaal) and Olympic Briljant (s Le Mexico) at Grand Prix level.
Performance Ermelo 1999
Honest, reliable stallion. More than sufficiently willing to work and works more than sufficiently. The walk has tact but is very big. The trot is big, slow and driving. The canter has much scope but it is somewhat slow and he should be lighter on his feet. He has little talent for dressage and gives his rider a moderate feeling.
As a jumper he has sufficient take-off. He rises well in the jump but he should be more controlled. He is consistent in his jumping and has sufficient foreleg technique and bascule. He finishes the jump sufficiently. He seems to be a careful jumper and seems to have more than sufficient to much scope. He has more than sufficient talent for jumping and gives his rider a good feeling.
Stall and handling behavior is normal.
Mid April 1999, he had an infection of the air passages. The symptoms were relieved by Ventipulmin. On 5/05 the stallion received a blow to the inside of the left foreleg. He had to have stitches but was able to continue working normally.
He was not accepted into the studbook after the test.
