Offspring report

Offspring 2003 (foals)
Sirius showed a uniform collection of sufficient to more than sufficiently developed foals. The foals stand in more than sufficient to good rectangular model.
The head is a little long but it is expressive. The poll is long and well formed. The neck has sufficient length and good muscling in the topline. The the foals use the neck well. The wither has sufficient length and is sufficiently developed. The shoulder is more than sufficient in length but a little straight. The back is a little weak. The loins are well connected. The croup has good length and shape and is well muscled. The hamstring is more than sufficient to good through the gaskin. The foreleg is generally a little straight and often has a straight pastern. The stance of the hindleg is good. The base has much quality but should be more developed.
The walk is pure and has sufficient scope and suppleness. The trot is big, has more than sufficient to much suppleness, much impulsion and self carriage and the foals are good at changes in the trot. The canter varies in scope, impulsion and suppleness. The foals do not jump easily into the canter
There were 9 picked foals and 6 that were selected by the owner. One foal was inspected on the day of the Gelders Horse and fit in with the above picture.
The mares ranged in quality. Four of the mares had a Gelders sire, the other mares came from tuig- and riding type stallions. The stallion seems able to pass on the Gelders type, especially with a Gelders mare.
Shown: 15 (+1) foals out of 36 mares that were bred in 2002.
