Offspring report

Offspring 2003 (foals)
Redford showed a uniform collection of sufficient to more than sufficiently developed riding type foals that stand in good rectangular model and are generally refined.
The head is sufficiently expressive. The poll is long and shaped well. The neck has more than sufficient length but is sometimes deep. The wither is long and well developed. The shoulder has sufficient to more than sufficient length and should have more slope. The back is shaped well but a little weak in some foals. The foreleg is tied in under the knee and a number of times has a weak pastern. The hindleg is long and sickle hocked. The base should have more development and has good quality.
The walk is pure and has good scope and suppleness. The foals carry the neck well at the trot, have barely sufficient scope and should show more use of the back. The hindleg should come underneath more. The foals bend the hindleg sufficiently at the canter but it should have more scope and suppleness.
There are 18 picked foals and 3 that were selected by the owner. One of the foals had an injury was evaluated in hand and fit in with the above picture. One of the foals has a deviation in the hock; another has uneven shape of the hoof. Two of the foals that were inspected at home differed in a positive manner from the above picture. The foals that were selected by the owner fit in the above picture.
The quality of the mares varied.
Shown: 21 (+2) foals out of 136 mares bred in 2002.
