Offspring report
Offspring 2002 (foals)
Roy-M showed a uniform collection of sufficient to more than sufficiently developed, tuig type foals that stand in good rectangular model.
The head is expressive. The poll has good shape but in certain cases should have more length. The neck has good length and shape and it is carried well. The wither has good length. In a number of cases the wither should be more developed. The shoulder is sufficiently good in length and position. The back is shaped well. The loins are well shaped and well muscled. The croup is generally straight and should be longer. The hamstring is more than sufficient in length. The foreleg has good length but in a few cases is somewhat delicate. Several of the foals were toed out. The hindleg is sometimes sickle hocked.
The base is sufficiently developed and shows quality. The shape of the hooves is normal.
The walk has sufficient scope but is somewhat lacking in power and flexibility from the hindleg. The trot has much scope. The use of the foreleg varies. The foals trot with much suppleness and much balance. The hindleg is generally used well. The foals can do changes well and show much rise in the front and much self carriage.
Remarks: Of the foals shown, 10 were picked and 4 were selected by the owner. One of the foals had some fluid in the hock.
The quality of the mares ranged from sufficient to good.
Shown: 14 foals out 45 mares that were bred in 2001.
