Offspring 2004 (foals)
Prestige-VDL showed older foals that were richly developed. The younger foals were barely sufficiently developed. The foals are sufficiently riding type.
The Prestige-VDL foals have a sufficiently expressive head that is sometimes a bit long. The poll is sufficient in length. The neck is sufficiently long but somewhat lacks muscling in the topline. The wither is more than sufficiently developed. The shoulder has more than sufficient position and length. The back varies in length and is sometimes a bit hollow. The loins are well connected. The croup varies in position, from straight to sloping. The length of the croup is sufficient. The hamstring is sufficiently long. The foreleg is sufficiently long. The stance is correct. The stance of the hindleg is often long and sickle-hocked. The base is more than sufficient in development and quality.
The walk is pure, has good sco9pe and is supple. The foals move with more than sufficient scope in the trot and have nice use of the foreleg. The hindleg should carry more. The Prestige-VDL foals have sufficient scope but should be more supple.
In short: A group of foals with sufficient riding type but that vary somewhat in development. The walk is good. The foals have sufficient scope in the trot and canter but should carry themselves better.
Of the foals shown, 18 were picked and five were selected by the owner. Two foals that were inspected at home fit in with the above report. The foals selected by the owner also fit in the above report.
The quality of the mares was generally good.

Prestige-VDL is a well-developed, sufficient riding type stallion that stands in very good rectangular model. The neck is well muscled. The back is long and a little deep. The hindleg is a little out behind.
Pedigree information
Prestige"s sire Silvano N was dressage champion of Holland in 2002. The stallion has been a valuable member of the Dutch team for years. UTV mare Lavendel performed an excellent test herself with high scores for the movement components. Her sire Goodtimes is above average in both disciplines. The Holsteiner line that produced Prestige has more approved stallions.
Lavendel produced 5 foals (5 colts) of which one is a 2nd viewing stallion.
Performance
Prestige-VDL is a strong, fresh stallion with much willingness to work and who works more than sufficiently to good. The work that was asked of him was easy for him.
The walk is pure, correct with more than sufficient scope. The trot has more than sufficient scope. Prestige-VDL has much impulsion in the trot and shows much bend in the fore- and hindleg. The hindleg should follow through more and moves toward the tail during the first phase of the trot. The wither should be higher in the trot. The canter has very much impulsion, power, bend and good balance. The croup stays a little high in the canter. Prestige-VDL has much talent for dressage and gives his rider a good feeling.
Prestige-VDL jumps with sufficient take-off but should jump back more through the body. The stallion has sufficient bascule. The foreleg bends moderately. He has moderate technique of the hindquarter. He shows sufficient scope. Prestige-VDL has sufficient talent for jumping and gives his rider a sufficient feeling.
Veterinary report: the stallion had a cough at the start of the test. After treatment with bronchoforte the complaints disappeared.
