Offspring report
Offspring 2000 (foals)
Obelisk showed an extremely uniform, more than sufficient to well developed collection of foals with much refinement. The foals are very riding type and correct.
The head is expressive, sometimes the ears are a little long. The poll is long and very well formed. The neck has good length, good shape and sufficient muscling. The wither is sufficiently developed and has good length. The shoulder is long and sloping. The back is sufficiently long and well muscled. The loins are a good length and very well connected and muscled. The croup is sufficiently long and has good position and muscling. The hamstring should be a little longer. The stance of the foreleg is correct. Sometimes the pastern is a little long and weak. The hindleg is a little sickle hocked. The legs are well developed. The hooves are frequently a little narrow. The walk is pure, scopey, powerful and moves well through the body. The trot has scope with much impulsion and suppleness. The foals show good self carriage and good use of the hindleg. The foals jump into the canter easily and they show scope, much impulsion and good balance.
Of the two of the foals that were inspected at home, one differed negatively in regards to conformation and movement from the above picture. The other foal fit in with the above picture.
Veterinary remarks: One foal was lame.
The quality of the mares was more than sufficient.
Shown: 13 (+2) foals out of 51 breedings.

The wither should be longer; the shoulder is a little straight. The hamstring should be longer He is a little back at the knee and his pasterns are a little straight.

His foreleg remains a little flat both in the walk and the trot. The canter has good scope and balance. He carries himself well in the canter and can change gears well. Obelisk has a great deal of aptitude for dressage and gives his rider a good feeling.
Obelisk made a tolerable impression as a jumper. He is slow leaving the ground and also jumps forward. The technique of the foreleg is passable and he bascules adequately. Obelisk does not finish the jump well from behind and has difficulty landing. He does not seem very careful and does not seem to posses much ability. He has little aptitude for jumping and gives his rider a tolerable feeling.
Behavior in the stall and during handling is normal.

Nothing out of the ordinary.
