Performance test report
1998
selected Den Bosch stallion show, 6th in championship
Very appealing stallion with an impressive rum and a lot of muscling that shows a notable manner of jumping. He has a strong pedigree thanks to dominant sires and a noted UTV mare with a good test as his dam.
Performance 1998 (spring)
Honest, reliable stallion. The walk has scope. The trot has much suppleness and scope but is not carried much. The canter has scope. He jumps a little forward. He has good technique and shows much scope.
On 4/16 the hooks on his teeth were rasped. From 4/22-5/05 Nijinski had a generalized staph skin infection. Through medication and baths the symptoms disappeared. On 5/05 he was lame on the left foreleg. This was caused by an injury to the pastern joint. It was tried to alleviate the condition through directed movement and medication. On 5/18 the situation was improved to the extent that his work was slowly increased. However, after a few days of heavier work the condition worsened again, so that on 05/27 he had to quit the test.
Performance 1998 (fall)
Honest, reliable stallion. He must be made to work and shows sufficient willingness. The walk is very big and sometimes not pure in tact. The trot has a lot of scope and suppleness. The use of the hindleg should be more powerful. He should carry more. The canter has much scope. He does not collect easily. He has sufficient talent for dressage and gives his rider a sufficient feeling. He has sufficient take-off as a jumper. He jumps too far forward and should be better. He should use the body more in the jump. The technique of the foreleg is good. The hindleg stays a little long. He seems careful and shows a lot of scope. He has more than sufficient to much talent for jumping and gives his rider a more than sufficient feeling.
Stall and handling behavior is normal.
No veterinary remarks.
