Offspring report
Offspring 2000 (foals)
Nassau showed a uniform collection of sufficiently developed, riding type foals in good rectangular model that show a lot of blood expression. The head varies in shape and, in a few cases, should be more expressive. The poll has good length and shape. The neck has good length. The neck is set on wide but has good shape and muscling. The wither is very well developed and long. The shoulder is more than sufficient in length and sufficient in placement. The back repeatedly drops off behind the wither. The loins are well formed and well connected. The croup generally slopes, is well muscled and has sufficient length. The hamstring is short. The foreleg is correct. The hindleg is generally a little long. The base is sufficiently developed and exudes quality. The walk has barely sufficient scope and should have more tact. The trot has good scope. The foreleg is used well. The hindleg shows a lot of bend but it should be brought underneath the body more. In a number of cases the foals lack regularity behind. The foals jump into the canter easily. The canter has good scope and impulsion.
One foal that was inspected at home fit in with the above picture in regards to conformation and differed positively in regards to movement.
Veterinary remarks: One foal was lame.
The quality of the mares was good.
Shown: 14 (+1) foals out of 51 breedings.
