Offspring report

Offspring 1999 (foals)
Negro showed a more than sufficient uniform collection of foals. They are barely sufficient to sufficiently developed. The foals show sufficient refinement and are of sufficient riding type but their lines should be a bit longer. The foreleg should also be a bit longer. The head is well formed and expressive. The poll has more than adequate length, but the neck sometimes should be a bit longer. Moreover, it sometimes comes a bit deep from the chest. The neck is used very well during movement. The wither should be more developed. The shoulder has more than adequate length but should have more slope. The back is sometimes a bit hollow. The loins are well formed, have good muscling and are well connected. The royally muscled croup has good length but should often have more slope. The foals have a well-muscled hindquarter with a long hamstring. On the whole, the foreleg is correct. Once in a while the pasterns are a little long and weak. The hindleg is usually correct. The size of the legs is more than adequate.
The walk has more than adequate scope but is a little stiff. In general the foals carry themselves very well in the trot. The majority of the foals trot with power, from behind with good positioning of the body. Moreover they do transitions very well. A few foals showed a pushing motion. The canter also comes well from behind. The foals canter with a great deal of suppleness, good balance and good body positioning.
On average, the mares were of more than sufficient quality.
One foal that was inspected at home deviated positively from above in regards to development and negatively in regards to movement.
Number of foals shown in 1999: 24 (+1 inspected at home) out of 116 breedings.
