Offspring report

Offspring 1998
A varied collection of foals both in regards to type as movement. The development is more than sufficient. The type ranges from sufficient to good tuig type. The model also varies from short-coupled to long-lined. The head is mostly well formed. The poll should generally be longer. The neck has good length and there is an obvious rounding in the muscling of the topline. The neck is carried well but is a little deep from the chest. The wither is more than sufficiently developed. The shoulder has good length and positioning. The back is often a little weak. The loins are well muscled and well connected. The croup has sufficient length but should slope more. The hamstring is more than sufficiently long. The foreleg has good length. The pastern has good length but is straight. The hindleg is generally rather sickle-hocked. The walk has sufficient scope but is a little stiff. The trot presents a very varied picture. Several foals do have good carriage of the neck but they should rise more and they remain high in the croup. They should place the hindleg underneath more and move the foreleg out further. Other foals trot with much front and rise in the forehand. These foals show very good use of the hindleg and good use of the foreleg with a long moment of suspension.
The quality of the mares varied. The better foals were with the better mares.
Shown: 20 foals out of 79 breedings.

Performance test report

Performance Ermelo 1997
He is honest and reliable. He is very willing to work and drives very well. The walk is active and sufficient in scope. Very good posture, he really carries the neck well, rises in the forehand, comes back in the front and looks very dignified. He has sufficient action in the foreleg but he should have even more scope in his extension. He has very good use of the hindleg, bringing it underneath well with good bend in the hock. He makes a happy picture in front of the show cart with much desire to go. He has very much talent for harness and gives his driver a good feeling. Stall behavior is normal.
In the beginning of May there were symptoms of a viral infection of the frontal air passages. This really did not hinder his progress.
Type of stallion
Manno is a generously developed, long lined, tuig type stallion. The neck is a little heavy but it is used very well in movement. In 1996, he was reserve champion of the 2-year old stallions at the National Tuigpaard Day in Ermelo. Points: ped 63, conf 82, move 85, total 315 points.
