Offspring report

Offspring (foals), September 2003:
Michael showed a varied collection of moderately developed foals with sufficient riding conformation and just sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation. The head is sufficiently attractive with good shape. The poll should be longer. The neck comes out deep from the chest but has sufficient shape with horizontal placement. The wither is more than sufficiently developed and has good length. The shoulder has sufficient length but is straight. The back has good shape and muscling. The loin has good shape and is well connected. The croup has sufficient length and good shape. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is generally correct but fine-boned, and some foals toe out. Hind leg conformation varies, from straight to sickle-hocked. The legs are of good quality. The walk is pure but needs more scope and elasticity. The trot lacks scope and push, and the foals move on the forehand. The canter is flat, lacking scope and elasticity. Offspring shown: 10 randomly selected foals and 2 foals selected by the stallion's registered party. One foal, which was ill, was evaluated in its stall but not evaluated in motion. The foals selected by the stallion's registered party are consistent with the findings described in this report. The quality of the dams was moderate. Foals shown: 12 of 21 out of mares bred in 2002.
Offspring in January 2007 (3-year-olds):
The evaluation of Michael's 3-year-old offspring has been postponed for one year due to an insufficient number of offspring at the inspections (fewer than 10).
Offspring in January 2008 (3- & 4-year-olds):
Based on the postponed evaluation/report on Michael's 3- & 4-year-old offspring, he has been granted another one-year postponement due to an insufficient number of offspring at the inspections (fewer than 10).

Performance test report

KWPN Stallion Selection in 's-Hertogenbosch, Feb. 1, 1997:
Selected for the performance test. Removed before interim examination.
KWPN Stallion Selection in 's-Hertogenbosch, Feb. 1, 2002:
Selected for the short performance test.
Lineage information, 2002 standings:
Michael's sire Nurzeus, a French-bred Anglo-Normandy stallion, is a leading international sire of show jumpers. This fact and the knowledge that Michael comes from an exceptionally strong sport-line make him a very valuable stallion genetically. His dam Herarda, an elite mare, is interesting because she is a daughter of the preferent foundation stallion Nimmerdor and because she was a convincing national show jumper. She produced 5 offspring (2 colts & 3 fillies), including the international show jumper and 3rd round viewing stallion Michael (s.Nurzeus) as well as the Z-level jumper and elite mare Leslie (s.G Ramiro-Z). Michael's granddam Viola preferent prestatie produced several interesting horses, including the Z-level jumpers Martijn (s.Grandeur) and Gilbert (s.Nurzeus); the ZZ-level jumper Fiona (s.Nurzeus), and the national jumpers Ping Pong (s.Amor) and Lodi (s.Grandeur). In addition, Viola produced the GP jumper and KWPN-approved stallion Jacomar as well as the Z-level jumper and KWPN-approved stallion Ditmar (s.Amor). Michael's great-granddam Madam is the granddam of the ZZ-light level dressage horse Loverboy (s. Recruut) and the Z2-level dressage horse Havefaith (s.Visioen). Furthermore, Madam is the great-granddam of the Z2-level dressage horse Liberty (s.Hercorose).
Conformation description, 2002:
Micheal is a more than sufficiently developed riding-type stallion with good muscling and sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation. The neck has horizontal placement and comes out deep from the chest. The topline has remarkably strong muscling. The croup has good shape and more than sufficient length. The hind leg is straight. The legs are of good quality.
Performance, 2002 standings:
Michael competes in show jumping at the 1.40m level. At age 7, he convincingly jumped to the final of the World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken.
Performance test in Ermelo, 2002 (short test, Mar. 11 - Mar. 30):
Micheal is an honest and reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and has more than sufficient trainability. The walk and trot have moderate scope and elasticity. The trot needs better rhythm and carriage. The canter has sufficient scope and moderate to sufficient elasticity. The stallion needs more bend. He has sufficient balance. As a jumper, Michael has abundant push. He jumps with more than sufficient front leg form and opens his front legs quickly. Michael jumps with sufficient bascule and opens his hindquarters well. The stallion needs more elasticity and a lighter landing. Michael is careful and has very abundant scope. He demonstrates abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a good feeling. The stallion shows normal behavior in his stall and on the ground. Throughout the entire test, the stallion was tight and sensitive in the back. No performance scores were awarded in the period in which Michael participated in the short test.
