Offspring report

Offspring 1998
Larino showed a slightly varied collection of foals. The development ranged from moderate to sufficient. The foals are in sufficient rectangular model. The head is sometimes a bit long. The poll and neck have good length, the muscling of the topline is more than sufficient. The wither has more than sufficient height but should be longer. The shoulder should be longer and have more slope. The foals drop off a little behind the wither. The back/loin formation is sufficiently muscled and a little weak. The croup should be longer and it is round. The muscling is sufficient. The hamstring has sufficient length. The foreleg is a little fine. The knee should be more developed. The hindleg is generally a little sickle-hocked.
The walk has sufficient scope and suppleness. The trot is limited in scope. The foals don"t carry themselves much and they should have more suppleness. The canter varies. In general the foals should have more impulsion, suppleness and scope. A few foals showed a good canter.
One foal that was inspected at home fit in with the picture in regards to conformation and differed positively in regards to movement.
The mares were of moderate quality. The selected foals that were accompanied by good mares, were of better quality. They clearly had more refinement and development. In movement they showed more impulsion and suppleness.
Shown: 14 (+1) foals out of 28 breedings.

Honest, reliable, and balanced. He is very willing to work and he works well. The walk is sufficient in scope. The trot should be bigger and more powerful. The canter has impulsion and balance. He has sufficient talent for dressage and gives his rider a sufficient feeling. He jumps with good technique of the foreleg and good use of the back but he should finish the jump a little better behind. He has a lot of take-off, a lot of scope and is sufficiently careful. He hurries a bit during the last canter stride before the jump, he should give himself more time. He has a lot of talent for jumping and gives his rider a good feeling. Stall behavior is normal.
Halfway through the test he suffered from a skin infection on the nose. This did not hinder him in his progress.
