Offspring report

Offspring 1997
A very uniform collection of more than sufficiently developed foals was shown. They are in good rectangular model and show a lot of refinement. The foals have sufficient scope in movement but the hindleg should be brought underneath more powerfully. The canter is better than the trot. The head is expressive. The poll has a lot of length. The neck also has good length, the topline is nicely muscled and rounded. The neck is well carried. The wither should clearly have more length lacks development. Length, placement and muscling of the shoulder are good. The back/loin formation has good length and muscling. The croup has sufficient length but the tail set is rather high. The hamstring is more than sufficiently developed. The foreleg is correct. The hindleg is correct. The base is a little fine.
The walk has sufficient scope but the foals should walk with more suppleness. The foals trot with good scope and sufficient freedom in the shoulder. The foreleg should lift more in the knee. The hindleg is a little slow in coming underneath and the foals should carry themselves more. Some foals did show an active hindleg. The foals show more impulsion during the canter and they carry themselves better. The canter is light but should rise up more. One foal that was inspected at home fit in with the rest of the picture. The quality of the mares was more than sufficient.
Shown: 16 (+1) foals out of 62 breedings.
