Offspring report
Offspring 1996 (foals)
The foals formed a uniform collection. They are sufficiently developed, more than sufficient riding type and refined. Because a number of foals need more length in the foreleg a number are short legged. The head is expressive. The length of the poll varies. The neck varies also. Some foals have a somewhat short, rather deep neck. Other foals have a long, well formed neck. The neck has good position in movement. The wither is rather flat. The shoulder is long and the placement is good. The back has good length. The loins are fairly hollow. The croup has sufficient shape but should be longer. The hindquarter is very well muscled. The knee of the foreleg is sufficiently developed but the cannon is a little fine. The pastern is often straight. The hindleg is generally correct. The walk of the picked foals was sufficient in scope and more than sufficient suppleness. The selected foals had moderate use of the hindleg in the walk. On the average the trot is good, with active use of the hindleg, a little flat in front and with slightly limited freedom of the shoulder. Some foals trot well of the ground with a lot of balance. The foals jump easily into the canter. Some of the selected foals lacked power and regularity. One foal still needs to be inspected at home. The mares were of sufficient quality.
Shown: 22 foals out of 105 breedings.
