Offspring report
Offspring 1996 (foals)
The foals did not form a very uniform collection. They are well developed. The picked foals varied in model. These foals were often sufficiently long lined and had little refinement. The selected foals were uniform in regards to model and they had good long lines with appropriate refinement but they did not move as well as the picked foals. In general the head does not have much expression. The poll and neck are both long and have good shape. The neck is also carried well. The wither is long. The shoulder has good length and placement. In a few cases the back appears weak but most often it is correctly formed and has more than sufficient muscling. In a few cases the loins are tight. The wide, heavily muscled croup should slope more and should also be longer. The high hipbones are really noticeable. The hamstring is sufficiently long. The foreleg is straight and has more than sufficient development. The hindleg is correct. The scopey walk looks a little stiff. The foals trot well off the ground and carry themselves well. The hindleg is very functional. This means that it bends and moves forward resolutely. Sometimes it could be brought underneath even further. The use of the foreleg is good. The foals trot with a lot of suppleness. They jump into the canter easily and when they go back to the trot they keep their rhythm and balance easily. One foal that was inspected at home fit in with the rest of the picture.
The mares varied in quality.
Shown: 23 (+1) foals out of 114 breedings.
