Offspring report
Offspring 2002 (foals)
Jacomar showed a collection of generally refined riding type foals. The collection varies in regards to development and type. The foals are sufficiently to well developed and are in sufficient to good rectangular model.
The shape of the head varies. The poll has sufficient length and is well formed. The neck has good length. The muscling of the neck varies and it frequently comes from deep in the chest. The transition to the wither should be smoother. The wither has good length and development. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and sufficient position. The back, which is sometimes slightly hollow, is sufficiently muscled. The loins are shaped and connected well. The croup, which is generally muscled well, slopes and has sufficient length. The hamstring is sufficiently long. The stance of the foreleg is correct. The hindleg is frequently long and scanty and it varies in build. The base has sufficient substance and good quality.
The walk is pure and has more than sufficient scope and sufficient suppleness. The trot does have sufficient scope, sufficient self-carriage, sufficient impulsion and sufficient suppleness but it should have more power. The foals do not jump into the canter easily. The picked foals either did not show a canter or merely showed a moderate canter. Some foals that were selected by the owner showed more than sufficient scope, more than sufficient suppleness and sufficient impulsion.
Remarks: Ten of the foals were randomly picked and the owner selected three.
The quality of the mares varied.
Shown: 13 foals out of 25 mares that were bred in 2001.
