Offspring report

Offspring 1996 (foals)
Polydox was accepted into the studbook during the summer of 1995 because of his accomplishments as a jumper and because of his interesting pedigree. There was a considerable difference between the picked and the selected foals. The first group was comprised of sufficiently large foals that were of insufficient rectangular model, little riding type and with little refinement. The selected foals stood more in rectangular model and had more than sufficient refinement. The picked foals lacked expression in the head. The selected foals had well formed heads. In the first group the neck was rather short, a little heavy and wide at the chest, it was rounded but lacked development in the poll. The selected foals had more length in the neck but it was again wide. The wither is short and flat. The long shoulder has sufficient slope. The back/loin formation is short and sometimes a little weak. The strongly sloping, well-muscled croup is a little short. The hamstring should be longer. The foreleg is well developed and correct. Some foals have straight hooves. The hindleg mostly has a small angle; once in a while it is a little long, sometimes with weak pasterns. The foals have strong legs. The foals appear a little stiff in the trot. They have little bend through the hock. The picked foals trotted with sufficient use of the forehand but with little suppleness. They had difficulties with changes and lacked carrying power and balance. The selected foals showed more rise in the front as well as scope and suppleness. They trotted with a more active hindleg and with good freedom in the shoulder. The mares were averagely good.
Shown: 23 foals out of 115 breedings.
