Offspring report
Offspring (foals) in 1994: the foals are sufficiently developed. They should have longer-lined conformation, and they vary in riding type from barely sufficient to sufficient. The foals selected by the stallion's registered party have better type and more nobility than the randomly selected foals. The head is somewhat long and needs more expression. The neck has sufficient muscling and good length. The wither varies from short and flat to good. The shoulder has sufficient length; its positioning varies from good to straight. The back has sufficient length but is weak, and the loin should be better connected. The croup has good shape but should be longer. The muscling is good, and the line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock is sufficiently long. The front leg has good conformation, with the exception of a few which are tight. Hind leg conformation is also good. The legs are sufficiently developed and of sufficient quality. The walk has sufficient scope but a slightly stiff hind leg. The trot should have more scope, power, elasticity, and elevation. The foals are mostly out of moderate quality mares. Veterinary remarks concern several foals with high heels and a front foot which is too tall and straight. Short summary: sufficiently developed foals with moderate riding type. The foals should move with greater scope and power. Foals shown: 17 out of 58 breedings.
Offspring, January 1998 (3-year-olds):
Based on the evaluation/report on Iroko's 3-year-old offspring, the stallion has been retained for KWPN breeding.
Offspring, January 2002 (7-year-olds):
Based on the evaluation/report on Iroko's 7-year-old offspring, the stallion has been retained for KWPN breeding.
Keur predicate awarded, January 2004:
A stallion is eligible to receive the keur predicate when his offspring are at least seven years old and have a sport index of more than 140 points with at least 75% reliability. The stallion's ability to pass on good conformation is also considered. This may mean that a stallion which meets the sport heritability requirement but whose conformation heritability is less than convincing is not eligible for the keur predicate. Under Peter Geerink, Iroko's international career achievements included winning the Grand Prix of Leeuwarden. As a son of the top sire Pilot, Iroko passes on jumping talent to his offspring. This year, Iroko ranks high in the jumping index with 161 points. Despite his young age, his offspring from his first year at stud are already competing in international horse shows. These include Nabucco, Maribel, and The Fly - the last of whom was the American champion as a youngster.
Offspring, January 2006 (11-year-olds):
Based on the evaluation/report on Iroko's 11-year-old offspring, the KWPN has definitively approved the stallion for KWPN breeding.
