Offspring report
Offspring 1994 (foals)
The collection of foals clearly fell into two groups. First the picked foals. They appear to be sufficiently developed. The type varies: there were short-coupled and long-lined examples that sometimes could have more refinement and appeal. The head is well formed and expressive. The neck changes: sometimes good shape and length, sometimes a little short, heavy and deep. The wither mostly has sufficient length but changes from flat to sufficiently developed. This also goes for the shoulder: sometimes short and straight, sometimes long and sloping. The back is generally sufficiently formed and muscled. The loin is well muscled. The croup is sufficiently muscled but varies in shape. The foreleg is poorly muscled and often tied in. The hindleg often has a small angle and a hock that is under developed. The base is delicate.
The scope varies at the trot. The foals have little rise in the front, little power from the hindleg, which should also come underneath with more power. The natural rise of the foals is good and the trot does appear somewhat easy for them.
The selected foals formed a more uniform group of foals that were clearly more the riding type. They are long-lined and have a better wither/shoulder formation, a better shaped neck and they clearly trot better, often with scope and elasticity. The little-developed base is also observed in this collection.
Most of the mares had quality.
No veterinary remarks.
In short: sufficiently developed foals that vary in type with a delicate base. Their movement varies from sufficient to good.
Shown: 22 foals out of 97 breedings.
