Offspring report

Offspring 1997
The offspring appeared to be sufficiently developed. The types are mostly a bit short coupled but there are also those in good riding type. The head could be more expressive, the neck is often a little short, the poll could have more length and there were a few ewe- necks. The wither should be more developed. The shoulder should be longer but placement is sufficient. Back and loins are good. The croup has good shape with sufficient length and muscling. The foreleg is a little short at times but it is correct. The hind leg is correct. The legs are well developed with sufficient quality. The feet are good.
The walk is big with sufficient suppleness but sometimes it is a little toed out. The foals show sufficient scope and suppleness in the trot. They trot well off the ground with good use of the hindleg. The canter is big and powerful. Heartbreak"s offspring jump with good technique. They have a good take-off and seem to have a lot of scope.
Shown: 3 yearlings, 2 two-year olds, 4 three-year olds, 3 four-year olds.
Offspring 1997 (foals)
The foals formed a uniform collection. The development is sufficient. They stand in good rectangular model and have refinement and appeal. The foals have sufficient scope and suppleness in movement but should have more impulsion.
The head is well formed. The poll has sufficient length. The neck also has sufficient length but comes a little deep from the chest and in some cases there is a ewe-neck. The wither is sufficiently developed. The shoulder has sufficient length and good placement. The back-loin formation is mostly good of length and more than sufficient in muscling. The croup has good length, shape and muscling. The buttock is well muscled. The correct foreleg is rather delicate and the knee should be more developed. They are often toed out. The hindleg is correct. The hock is sufficiently developed.
The walk is sufficient and has sufficient suppleness. The trot has more than sufficient freedom of the shoulder but the foals trot with limited impulsion and must carry more. Most of the foals cantered easily and were very supple. Some foals showed a lot of impulsion at the canter. One foal that was inspected at home fit in with the rest of the picture. The mares were of more than sufficient to good quality.
Shown: 13 (+1) foals out of 27 breedings.

1997
Heartbreaker jumped competitively at 1.30 m. As a 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year old he competed successfully in Belgium. In 1995 and 1996 he reached the finals of the WBFSH championships in Lanaken and finished 5th and 4th respectively.
Performance 1997 (19 days)
He is an honest reliable stallion. He is very willing to work but is not easy to ride. The walk and trot are limited in scope. He was irregular during the beginning of the test. The canter is light, with good impulsion and sufficient scope. In jumping he has a good take-off, he leaves the ground quickly and is very careful. He tenses quickly and could finish the jump a little better. He has a lot of scope and quick reactions.
Stall behavior is normal.
He was still recovering from an injury to the left foreleg when he arrived. His work schedule was adjusted accordingly for the first few days. It did not bother him afterward.
