Offspring report

Offspring 1993 (foals)
The French bred stallion showed a collection of sufficiently developed foals that are of sufficient riding type. The head is well formed and shows expression. The neck is often poorly muscled but is carried well in the trot. In a few cases the neck should be longer. The wither is well developed and is long. The shoulder is almost always long enough but could often have a little more slope. The back and loin formation is good in regards to shape and muscling. The croup is well muscled but could be longer. The hamstring should also be longer. The foreleg is correct but sometimes a little tight. The hindleg is often a little long and in a few cases straight. The pasterns are rather long. In general the legs have sufficient quality although there could be more substance.
The walk is just plain good, it is easy and shows scope. The trot varies. The general picture is that of ease and suppleness but little power. Some foals lack the suppleness and have the tendency to go on the forehand. The foreleg should lift more in the knee.
The selected foals were generally more of the riding type, had better necks and some also trotted well. On the basis of the foals seen here it can"t be said that the stallion is a strong sire. The quality of the mares has a strong influence on the foals.
In short: sufficiently developed and sufficiently typed foals that trot with suppleness but should have more power behind.
Shown: 19 foals out of 91 breedings.

Performance test report

Performance 1991
Friendly, obedient, honest, somewhat phlegmatic with good humor. He was saddle broke at the start of the test. He was fun to ride but his rider must make him work. He has sufficient freedom in the shoulder and moderate use of the hindleg. He is not very light on his feet. The walk is sufficient. The trot is sufficient in scope but not very powerful. The canter is carried sufficiently and is also sufficient in scope. He shows a lot of scope and use of the back in jumping. He finishes the jump very well but often opens the foreleg too quickly. He works well in cross-country but does not have a powerful gallop. He gives an average feeling in dressage and a very good one in jumping. He looks at the work as normal and is sufficiently willing to work. He has moderate to sufficient talent for dressage and very much talent for jumping. He was in good condition upon arrival. He grew during the test, but he lost some weight after his straw was replaced by wood shavings. Stall behavior is calm.
