Offspring report

Offspring 1993 (foals)
The French bred stallion showed a collection of sufficiently developed foals that are of sufficient riding type. The head is well formed and shows expression. The neck is often poorly muscled but is carried well in the trot. In a few cases the neck should be longer. The wither is well developed and is long. The shoulder is almost always long enough but could often have a little more slope. The back and loin formation is good in regards to shape and muscling. The croup is well muscled but could be longer. The hamstring should also be longer. The foreleg is correct but sometimes a little tight. The hindleg is often a little long and in a few cases straight. The pasterns are rather long. In general the legs have sufficient quality although there could be more substance.
The walk is just plain good, it is easy and shows scope. The trot varies. The general picture is that of ease and suppleness but little power. Some foals lack the suppleness and have the tendency to go on the forehand. The foreleg should lift more in the knee.
The selected foals were generally more of the riding type, had better necks and some also trotted well. On the basis of the foals seen here it can"t be said that the stallion is a strong sire. The quality of the mares has a strong influence on the foals.
In short: sufficiently developed and sufficiently typed foals that trot with suppleness but should have more power behind.
Shown: 19 foals out of 91 breedings.
