Offspring report
Offspring 1993 (foals)
The collection of foals that were shown varied in regards to development from sufficient to good. Even though a little shallow they are of the riding type and have refinement. The head is a little long but it is well formed and often expressive. The necks are varied: sometimes a little short, sometimes with a ewe-neck but often with good shape. The poor muscling is pretty much common to all the foals. The neck is used well during movement. The wither is well developed and has good length. The shoulder always has the desired length but should, in a few cases, have more slope. The back is well muscled, the loins are well connected. The croup varies: sometimes sloping and long, sometimes a little short, sometimes a little flat. The foreleg is correct but often a little tied in. The hindleg is rather long with a pretty strong angle. The legs have good quality.
The walk is sufficient to good. The trot has a lot of impulsion and is characterized by strong use of the hindleg and a lot of suppleness.
The selected foals had more depth to their rumps and the walk had more scope. The mares varied a lot but on the whole were of average quality.
The veterinary remarks pertain to the incorrect stance of the forelegs of some of the foals.
In short: sufficient to well developed foals with refinement that are a little shallow in the back. The trot is characterized by powerful use of the hindleg and a lot of suppleness.
Shown: 30 foals out of 200 breedings.
