Offspring report

Offspring 1989
This French bred stallion presented a well-developed, long-lined foals that were of the riding type but a little poorly muscled. The picked foals lacked desired rump depth. The selected foals are better. The head is generally rather long with little expression. The selected foals had better heads. The neck has sufficient length but especially with the picked foals the bearing was not ideal because it was deep and poorly muscled in the topline. The wither has sufficient length but should be more developed. Length and placement of the shoulder are good. Back and loin formation are also good. The croup is well formed and has good length. The foreleg is a little tied in under the knee and also straight at times. The knee is sufficiently developed. The hindleg was long for the picked foals; the selected foals were better. The cannon bones are long. The walk is generally stiff with little or no use of the hock; the walk is often insufficient, especially with the picked foals. The selected foals walked better. The trot shows little freedom of the shoulder with limited use of the hindleg. Several foals were wide behind in the trot and the majority of the foals were on the forehand. The selected foals have suspension in the trot and a few just trotted plain good. The foals jump easily into the canter.
In short: long-lined, riding type foals that are a little poorly muscled. Movement should have more scope and power.
Shown: 24 foals out of 112 breedings.

Performance test report

Performance 1987 (post-exam, tied for 15th)
Obedient, friendly, and honest with good humor. He was green at the start of the test. He has trouble collection. He is a little heavy to ride, the movements are a little heavy. He hurries sometimes and in the beginning of the test he was not always regular, this improved over time. The trot is regular and has sufficient scope. The canter is big but not very elastic. He does not show much enthusiasm for jumping, has sufficient ability, he varies between good and bad jumps. He is too much on the forehand in cross-country. He is more than sufficiently willing to work and looks at it as normal. He has more than sufficient talent for jumping, sufficient for dressage and moderate talent for cross-country. He was in poor condition upon arrival. He got more food and grew. He was sometimes annoying in his stall.
His lift hind hock filled on 04/01. On 05/19 he was lame on the left fore and went to Utrecht for more tests. There it appeared on 05/22 that he was lame because of a condition of the sesamoid bones. After treatment and five weeks of rest he resumed training.
