Offspring report

Offspring 1989 (foals)
The committee saw a uniform group of well developed foals. The foals are long lined and have refinement and quality. They hey have a riding type build. The head is pretty, shaped well and expressive with a well formed neck and a long poll. The muscling in top topline could be a little more generous. The wither has good length and sufficient development. The shoulder has slope and good length. The back is generally well muscled, sometimes on the long side. The loins are also well muscled. The croup has good muscles, is very long but sometimes with too much slope. The foreleg has good stance with sufficient substance. The hindleg is not uniform in stance. There are some foals with sickle-hocks as well as a few with straight legs and a few that are correct. The hocks are generously developed with a lot of depth. The walk is short and stiff, though the picked foals were a little better. The trot varies; a number of foals trotted with good use of the hindleg, but a number of foals could not be evaluated because they were too boingy.
Four of the foals could not be evaluated in movement because they were lame (for whatever reason).
In short: a uniform collection of well developed, long lined foals with a well formed neck. The movements are sufficiently good.
Shown: 16 foals out of 29 breedings.
Approval term 1996
He was approved for a first term of three years. The stallion committee made this decision on the basis of a number of considerations. Clavecimbel has a high dressage index (164, 54%); the quality of his offspring was high at the mare and stallion keuringen and also in the competition for the VSN trophy. His approved son Havidoff seems to be an asset for both dressage and the breeding program.
1997
The evaluation of his 7-year old offspring was postponed because their sport results were not available in time.
1998
Clavecimbel"s approval is maintained in response to the evaluation of the 7-year old offspring that was postponed earlier.

Performance test report

Strong, long-lined stallion. The type is good. He has strongly developed legs. The stallion should have more charisma.
Performance Ermelo 1987
Balanced, friendly, attentive, impertinent that was honest with excellent humor. He was already saddle broke at the start of the test. During the first weeks he was rather stiff at the start of the daily work. As time went by he was more fun to ride. The stiffness disappeared later on. Sometimes he gets behind the bit and sometimes he bucks. He closes well and comes to good balance. He shows moderate jumping technique and more than sufficient scope but he should be more supple. He has a very good cross-country gallop and reasonable performance over the jumps. He is very willing to work and enjoys it. The work was difficult for him the first few weeks but later it was rather easy. He has very much talent for dressage, more than sufficient talent for cross-country and sufficient talent for jumping. He was rather lean upon arrival, he was fed more than normal and he muscled up more during the test. He does not eat well.
He was irritating while he was being taken care of and while being haltered. His straw was replaced by shavings because his stall was always very dirty, but his stall was dirty even after the change.
On 3/23 he had a girth sore. On 4/07 both hindlegs were stocked up, stiff and very sensitive. After treatment and a few days rest it no longer bothered him.
