Offspring report

Offspring 1988
The foals by this stallion have sufficient size. The collection was uniform with sufficient refinement and quality. The foals are often shallow and on the average are of sufficient riding type. The head varies but in general it is well formed and sometimes very expressive. The neck has sufficient length but sometimes comes from deep in the chest. Sometimes the poll is short; the throatlatch is good and compensates. The shoulder is almost always short and should often have more slope. It is well muscled. The back is often a bit long, it was better among the last group of selected foals. The loins are well muscled and connected. The croup is well formed, wide and muscled, but it should be longer. The hamstring is a little round. The foreleg is correct in build and stance. The hindleg is also correct in build and stance. The walk is a little short but again it was better with the last group of selected foals. The foals have tact and regularity in the trot and the have good suspension. The hindleg could be brought under the body better and the shoulder should have more freedom. The foals looked narrow in the trot.
In short: sufficient riding type, rather shallow looking foals with a long midsection. Tact, regularity and good suspension characterized the trot, which should be stronger behind and should show more freedom in the shoulder.
Shown: 32 foals out of 154 breedings.

Performance test report

1986
Selected for performance test at the rekeuring in Zwolle.
Performance 1986
Playful, friendly, honest but must be put in his place regularly. He was green at the start of the test. He has the tendency to hold the bit and to go out through the outside shoulder. He sometimes gnashes his teeth. For several weeks he could not be under saddle and was longed during that time. He has springy movements with a lot of suppleness. He is fun to ride. The walk is big, regular and relaxed. The trot has nice suspension, a lot of scope and a lot of regularity. The canter is good and regular. In jumping he holds himself in the loins and lands with difficulty. He has sufficient ability, jumps upwards nicely. He has a good cross-country canter but is not very handy. More than sufficient willingness to work and the work is easy for him. He has a lot of talent for dressage, more than sufficient talent for jumping and cross-country. He was very well fed upon arrival at the test and lost weight during the test. He also grew more when his feed went up. He was calm in his stall, but was mouthy while being handled.
During the 6th week he got a skin condition on his back and therefore was not ridden for a week; he was longed.
