Offspring report
Offspring 1987 (foals)
Very well developed foals by this stallion were shown on the grass. They are built like riding types with strongly developed rumps. In general they should show more refinement and blood expression, though this is less true for the selected foals. The picked foals should have more quality in the legs, the selected foals were better. The head is a little plain, it should be more finished. This was especially true for the picked foals, the selected foals were better but they should also have more expression. The neck has good length but is, in several cases, poorly muscled in the topline, especially for the picked foals. Also, several times a slight ewe-neck was observed. The poll is always good. The wither is extra well developed and is very long. The shoulder is very well developed, has much length and good placement. The foreleg is correct and very well developed. A few foals are toed out. The hindleg is always long and sickle hocked. The hock is often knobby and in several cases there was a remark about spavins. The foals are generally stiff in the walk, making little use of the hock (especially the picked foals). The trot is good with much scope and the foals move well from the shoulder. The hock is also not used well in the trot and as a result the hindleg is limited in coming underneath. Several of the foals were cow-hocked.
The stallion had very good mares, the dams of some of the picked foals were of national level.
These offspring left the jury with the impression that the stallion needs mares with thoroughbred blood.
In short: very well developed, riding type foals with strongly developed rumps. Remarks were made concerning the build and stance of the hindlegs. The trot is good with much freedom from the shoulder.
Shown: 26 foals out of 123 breedings.
Keur 1995
Although the stallion scores especially high on the new jumping index (9th place) with 127 points and reliability of 88%, he also passes on some talent for dressage because his offspring are on the dressage index with 110 points and reliability of 78%. On the basis of his conformation heritability it can also be said that he produces good models with good movement. His weakest point concerns the of somewhat tight back/loin formation.
